Three IUSD students received the prestigious college-sponsored National Merit Scholarships. These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.
Northwood High School's Girls Softball team made history by capturing their first CIF Southern Section Division 5 Softball Championship with an impressive 11-1 victory over Grace Brethren High School.
The Irvine High School Girls softball team made history by capturing the CIF Southern Section Division 6 championship. This is the Vaqueros’ first CIF-SS championship since 1991.

Sierra Vista Middle School’s Science Olympiad team won the national title at the 42nd Annual Science Olympiad National Tournament, marking a back-to-back championship title and their 3rd national win.

Taeho Kim from Irvine High School and Meital Kochinski from Northwood High School were chosen to be a part of the National Hope Squad Council, a leadership opportunity that empowers students to advocate for mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and peer connection on a national level.
University High also earned Rookie of the Year honors in Division I, awarded to the highest-scoring team competing at nationals for the first time.
Dr. Baptiste was selected unanimously for the 2026 honor in recognition of her leadership and commitment to advancing literacy for multilingual learners.
