The Portola High School Girls Golf captured the 2025 CIF Southern Section Division II Championship, marking back-to-back titles and their third championship in four years.
Competing against 22 Division II teams, the Bulldogs edged out the runner-up by just two strokes with an impressive team score of 419 at the Championship tournament on November 3, 2025.
The championship, held under challenging weather conditions on a demanding course, was a true test of resilience and teamwork. All six Portola golfers finished within eight strokes of one another, with three golfers making their CIF team debut this season.
“A challenging course and harsh weather made it a true test of consistency and resilience. The team’s effort, anchored by balanced scoring and composure under pressure, led to another remarkable CIF win,” commented Portola Girls Golf Coach and Social Studies Teacher Wind Ralston.
The team demonstrated incredible consistency on the course, led by standout performances from both seasoned players and emerging talent.
In CIF, there are multiple divisions a team could compete in. These divisions are determined by competitive equity and school enrollment, ensuring that teams are matched against similarly competitive programs regardless of school size or geographic location.
This championship victory underscores the dedication of all IUSD’s student-athletes and coaches, whose commitment and planning are instrumental in each team's success. Congratulations to Portola Girls Golf!
