October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Our students, staff and families are across IUSD schools to continue to raise awareness and support kind and respectful school cultures. Below are five facts about bullying prevention on our campuses.  

September is Suicide Prevention Month, and we would like to remind the IUSD community how to access information and resources for discussing suicide prevention, knowing the signs, and seeking help.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and IUSD would like to remind our parents and families of the importance of consistent school attendance and the impact of chronic absenteeism on student success.

What is Chronic Absenteeism?

Staying connected to family, friends and community is important for emotional well-being, especially during the summer, when students may see others less often.

We want to remind the IUSD Community about various resources available to support our students and families during the summer.
As we approach the end of the school year, we want to express our gratitude to our students, staff, families, and community partners, because the excellence in IUSD remains a direct reflection of the investment of this entire community.

Summer break is undoubtedly a time for relaxation and recharging after a busy school year. However, this time of year can also bring about stress and challenges.

Through a partnership with CHOC, the Tsao Family Foundation and OCDE, we have continued to expand our student wellness offerings with the opening of three new WellSpaces for the 2024-25 school year at Vista Verde School and Northwood and Woodbridge high schools.
IUSD takes a comprehensive approach, focusing our mental health and wellness efforts on both proactive and responsive programs, initiatives and supports for students.

Portola High School was named a 2025 California Green Ribbon School sustainability honoree by the California Department of Education for their outstanding achievements in environmental excellence.
